We all know Mark Geragos. There's never a case Mark won't take if it lands him on the front pages or on Larry King. The famed Armenian-American 'celebrity' attorney took on a case in Ohio, argued it, but lost. Perhaps he should have done his homework, and find, as the Ohio Elections Commissions did, that his client did not have any proof for his claims.
The issue was one of free speech and its interpretation. As I also agree, free speech does not and should not entitle you "a license to lie or defraud the voters," as Donald Brey, the winning attorney argued.
David Krikorian in his failed challenge to unseat Congresswoman Jean Schmidt (R) claimed that Schmidt took money from the Turkish government and Turkish government-sponsored political action committees. The motive: Armenian 'Genocide. Schmidt's position is that she doesn't have enough information to proclaim the events of 1915 as 'Genocide,' a view also shared by the U.S. gov't.
It is illegal for political candidates to accept money from foreign governments. Schmidt did not. After he lost, Krikorian claimed that she did. And hence the complaint brought on by Rep. Schmidt against Krikorian.
Does anyone in Ohio wonder about the current economy, or other important issues at hand that might affect Ohio? Should the voters penalize Krikorian once again for making this his priority number one in the next election as well? I think so! It's also time to send Geraros back to Hollywood where he belongs, and maybe take Krikorian with him.
